The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and Long Branch Police are asking for the public's help in locating Marc Zayas, the 18-year old Long Branch man wanted in connection with a shooting in Long Branch Thursday afternoon.

Long Branch Police arrived to the area of 63 Morris Avenue Thursday just after 12:00 PM. When they arrived they found an 18-year old Neptune City man with a gunshot wound to the back. he was taken to a local hospital in critical but stable condition.

Zayas is being charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

The Monmouth County Sheriff's Office and other Monmouth County law enforcement are assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni warned everyone that anyone assisting in hide Zayas will be charged.
