Pound The Pavement Pancreatic Fundraiser Returns For 6th Year
Coming up is an event that is solely put together to support an amazing cause.
On Saturday, October 12th starting at 10:00 AM is the 6th Annual Pound the Pavement for Purple 5K Run & 2 Mile Walk!
The event is taking place at The Headliner, which is located at 1401 Highway 35, Neptune and in case you have never been to this bar, it is a very relaxing scene that allows you to eat and drink while outdoors. Definitely a great scene to fund-raise.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Lustgarten Foundation whose mission is to raise as much money as possible for research so a cure can be found for Pancreatic Cancer.
Studies say that Pancreatic Cancer is the 3rd leading cause of cancer-related deaths and events like these have one theme: IT NEEDS TO STOP.
But at the very least, charitable functions like these also allow people battling the same obstacles to come together to support each other. We will defeat this.
This event is presented by Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Neptune Township Committee.
If you choose to run the 5K or walk the 2-mile course, you can preregister online or by mail but it must be submitted by October 8th.
You can also register on the day of the event at The Headliner starting at 8:30 AM.
