Practice Holiday Safety This December
On December 9th, a male suspect approached a customer at the Ocean Township Cobblestone Wine and Spirits parking lot, demanded her purse as he threatened her with a knife. In a separate incident, a woman was robbed at knifepoint as she entered her car in the Home Goods parking lot in Neptune.
As you are busy with holiday shopping and other preparations this week, it’s important to be safe. Practice and share these tips to prevent being a holiday crime victim. Even though stores may have extended hours, try to shop during the day and avoid shopping alone. Limit the amount of cash you carry and pay for purchases using your credit card. Stay alert and be aware of strangers approaching you. Con-artists sometimes work in teams and may try various methods to distract you.
