Lissette Amaro-Meneses has black hair and brown eyes and is about 5 feet 3 inches tall and was last seen wearing jeans, brown boots, a gold chain necklace with a small gold cross and medium-sized hoop earrings, according to the Asbury Park Press.

Her mother told the Asbury Park Press that Lissette left during lunch at Toms River High School South.

South Toms River Police Chief William Kosh tells WOBM News that they've been in touch with other agencies and believe Lissette may be trying to avoid being found.

Kosh said she suffers from a medical condition but didn't want to speculate on what the illness might be.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the South Toms River Police Department at 732-349-0313.
