There has only been one bridge (westbound) open this past Winter to travel in and out of Seaside Heights from Toms River which caused some headaches during big events like the Polar Bear Plunge and the Seaside Heights St. Patty's Day Parade.

The eastbound bridge (drawbridge) has been closed since November due to necessary deck work. The Westbound bridge has been handling traffic to and from Toms River. The entire construction project is supposed to take 3 years to complete and expected to be done by Summer of 2018, but according to APP.com, this first phase of construction.....

is on schedule to open before Memorial Day Weekend 2016!!
