Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden joined us on the morning show today to talk about "Operation Take Back New Jersey". It's an effort to urge people to clean out their medicine cabinets of unwanted and expired medications.

The key point of the effort is to keep prescription drugs from being readily available to children. According to Golden, "Prescription drugs are considered a gateway drug to other serious and dangerous street drugs."

The program is being held tomorrow, September 29th, from 10am to 2pm at the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office, 50 E. Main St. in Freehold.

The Monmouth County Sheriff's Office has also set up a permanent collection site located at the back entrance of the Sheriff's Office and is available to residents Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm. It is the only drop off site in Monmouth County designated by the DEA.
