If you saw dark smoke billowing into the sky between Brick and Mantoloking on Sunday (June 21st) and you were wondering what the heck was going on, the Laurelton Fire Company is sharing some photos of the scary scene on the water.

If pictures are worth a thousand words, these photos tell a harrowing story and the quick response of our local first responders.

The fire company isn't sharing many details publicly at this time, but they are sharing photos of a boat that was completely engulfed in flames just south of the Mantoloking Bridge on Sunday.

The most stunning image is the head-on picture of the vessel that was completely consumed by flames and belching black smoke high into the sky:

Laurelton Fire Company #1's Fire Boat 2326 came to the aid of the flaming boat and thankfully controlled the blaze:

Comments on social media suggest that everybody got off of the Barnegat Bay bound vessel safely, but we don't have official word from emergency responders just yet.

Our WOBM News team is currently working on getting official details.

You can see the photos at the official Facebook page of Brick-based Laurelton Fire Company #1 by clicking here.

As our WOBM News team works on getting official information, comments, and more details on what caused the fire and if anybody was hurt, we'll be sure to bring all of the details to you as soon as they're made official.
