My 5 Subtle Signs That You’re A Bad New Jersey Driver
After another summer weekend behind the wheel in the Garden State, I have determined the 5 subtle signs you’re a terrible New Jersey driver.
Are You A Terrible New Jersey Driver?
I’m going to start with full disclosure. This is not an exercise to prove that everyone else is a bad driver and that I’m somehow better.
I put myself to the test and found out that, oftentimes, I’m more part of the problem than the solution.

I looked into the mirror and found myself guilty of several of the 5 signs you’re a terrible New Jersey driver.
Are You A Bad New Jersey Driver? Take The Test
Here are the 5 subtle signs I think make you a bad driver in New Jersey. Be honest with yourself, and see how you do.
#5 - The Gap Closer - this driver maintains a certain speed until he thinks you want to get in front of him, then speeds up to close the gap.
#4 - The Slow Left Lane Change - This driver does 40 in the left lane, then needs to show you he’s in charge by exiting the lane super slow. It’s a classic control-freak move.

#3 - The Slow Downer - No matter what slow speed he decides to go, if he thinks you’re too close to him, he slows down even more.
#2 - The Get Out Of My Way Driver - You know this guy: no signal lights, the Jersey Shuffle on steroids, and no concern for anyone’s safety.

#1 The Brake Checker - He doesn’t like how you’re driving behind him, so he keeps tapping his brake to let you know this is his road and he’s in charge.
Add these habits to the speeding, tailgating and all the other bad driving we see on New Jersey’s roads, and you begin to see why we all dread driving in our state.
So, how’d you do? I won’t tell you which ones, but I was guilty of 3 of them. I need to do better.
