State officials are voicing concern that all of the debris left in the wake of Superstorm Sandy more than 6 months ago could provide additional breeding grounds for mosquitoes that carry the West Nile Virus.
Maybe the mosquitoes are getting bigger and faster, or maybe I'm just getting slower. Is it just me or are the mosquitoes around here in rare form this summer?
Diane and I were sitting on the deck in the backyard, enjoying the weather around 7pm yesterday, when all of a sudden this thing flew by. I would normally shrug and say it was a mosquito, but this thing had to be 3 inches long. And it had an attitude.
