One state should be more worried than others when the snakes are more active this year.

New Jersey is home to two venomous snakes, neither of which is the water moccasin.

They're invasive. They're creepy. They jump. Doesn't exactly sound like earthworms but they are. Oh, and they wriggle like snakes.

Did you know that New Jersey has nearly two dozen different types of snakes? And the names are as chilling as spotting one.

Now, we all know the Jersey Shore is home to a few different kinds of snakes but...just imagine hanging out on your porch, you're relaxing in the sun and all of a sudden you see a 4ft snake slowly making its way through your yard. I know it's not an anaconda or a rattlesnake but many of us are not snake people, most of our snake IQs are terrible!

We already told you about those 17 year periodical cicadas emerging this spring...BILLIONS of these bugs lie dormant for 17 years and then pop up though the ground like a horror movie. That is supposed to happen this May. Well hang onto your hat because apparently this influx of cicadas triggers other things to happen like an increase in pit vipers! PIT VIPERS!
