The Avengers Keeps Breaking Records

On Friday's morning show I mentioned the battle between The Avengers and Johnny Depp's Dark Shadows would be an interesting one since it seems almost automatic that a Johnny Depp movie always seems to bring in $25 million just because he's in it. I was right about that. It brought in $28.8 million. As far as a battle between Dark Shadows and The Avengers, not so much.

Here are some of this weekend's accomplishments for The Avengers. It brought in an amazing $103.2 million in it's second weekend, easily #1 for the weekend. It's now the first movie to bring in over $100 million domestically in it's second weekend, and has reached $300 million faster than any other movie, doing that in only nine days. It also surpassed the $1 billion mark worldwide in only 19 days.
