‘Today Show’ Talks Breast Implants Instead of 9/11 Moment of Silence [VIDEO]
The Today show got people's attention today when the morning program aired an interview segment of Kardashian-mom Kris Jenner talking about her breast plastic surgery instead of honoring the 8:46 a.m. moment of silence in remembrance of the 11th anniversary of 9/11/01. It seems like really bad timing here, assuming this was a mistake or unfortunate oversight on the part of the New York-based morning show, and not an intentional display of insensitivity. It's been eleven years since the terrorist attacks of September 11th and the country has not forgotten.
While other networks interrupted their regularly scheduled programming to acknowledge the anniversary at 8:46 a.m.,the time the first plane hit the Twin Towers, NBC's national broadcast of Today continued on with its usual programming, which at that point, just so happened to be an interview with Kris Jenner to discuss her breast augmentation.
Here's a video of compilation of what virtually every other news outlet was doing while The Today Show was talking to a Kardashian.
Kudos to WNBC (NBC4) for cutting away from The Today Show and going to local coverage. There are also reports that the idiotic move was realized by the folks at NBC and they "fixed" the west coast feed.
How could a NEW YORK CITY based national program be so absent minded? Speaking personally, this mistake in unforgivable.
