It didn't look like there would be a baseball season in 2020 because of the pandemic, but District 18 Little League officials were among the leagues able to make it happen with Covid numbers in an improving spot at that point.

Optimism and the hope for normalcy is here early in 2021 and along with it, plans for a regular baseball season which has players, parents and leagues buzzing and waiting to head back to the diamond where singles become triples and every once in a while someone runs into one and hits a homerun.

As we head towards February, Toms River East Little League, the home of the 1998 Little League World Series Champions which included Todd Frazier, is holding sign-ups for this years teams.

Sign-ups are for boys and girls ages 4-16 years old and you only have a few days to get all the information in for early sign-ups.

Play ball!
