After 33 years on White Street, a fixture in Red Bank is closing its doors.

Toy Masters was opened by Denise Zappoli and was a go-to for the hottest toys, dolls, and collectibles. She told The Two River Times that she is closing the store to focus on her health.

It took a while for Denise to realize how her store impacted so many lives. Many gifts bought a Toy Masters put smiles on faces young and old. Whether it was a birthday or Christmas, Monmouth County and beyond could come to the store to get that perfect plaything. Denise would know your name and even wrap your gift.

Denise told The Times:

I didn’t think I understood until the last month when I overheard a father say to his young son, ‘This is where I got my first yo-yo.’ That’s when it hit me,” she said with sadness. I hope someone comes forward to continue this toy store, this family tradition.

Toy Masters neighbor Hobby Masters will continue to stay open. In the meantime, Denise and the Toy Masters staff are selling off the store.
