It seems like it's been forever since we went from the rumor of a Trader Joe's in Freehold to confirmation of a Trader Joe's in Freehold to construction, and no finally to the grand opening!

What used to be Walgreens in the Pond Road Plaza has now been transformed into a store that virtually every Jersey Shore town hopes to have. 4331 Route 9, GPS the address.

A ribbon-cutting will take place Friday, October 4 at 7:55 am. The doors open at 8 and then let the shopping begin! By the way, if you're planning on getting anywhere near the store on Friday, or even this weekend, you may want to camp there. The Brick and Shrewsbury openings were crazy.

What makes this Trader Joe's different from the rest? It's all about Freehold.

The company told APP:

Artwork in the store will pay tribute to Freehold's history featuring artwork that highlights and pays tribute to Freehold’s rich history, including the Metz Bicycle Museum, Turkey Swamp Park, the Freehold Diner as well as the Hall of Records. There's also a nod to the area's various horse stables.

If you've never experienced a Trader Joe's, you're in for a treat. All of their items are their own. And there are a lot of them. Cookie. butter. Get the cookie butter. Also, the everything bagel seasoning is the bomb. Oh, they introduce about a dozen new items every month.

Trader Joe's is not your typical grocery store, but you can absolutely get all of your shopping done there easily.
