We got word today of two retailers that are closing underperforming stores in the near future.

You may not be saving those giant coupons for much longer.

First up is Union, NJ headquartered Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Shareholders received a letter from the company stating "underperforming stores are expected to close or relocate in the near future." The letter also mentioned that it was "refreshing" all of their stores before the holiday season.

In Monmouth and Ocean, there are locations in Toms River, Brick, Howell, Eatontown, Aberdeen, Middletown, and Manalapan. The company would not specify which, if any, would be relocated or closed.

Attention gamers, Game Stop announced Wednesday that they are planning to close between 180 and 200 underperforming stores by the end of its fiscal year. A bad earnings report brought on the decision to shut down some locations.

Once again, no stores have been targeted. There are Game Stops in Brick, Howell, Neptune City, Freehold, Ocean Twp., West Long Branch, Eatontown, Middletown, Hazlet, and Englishtown.
