There are two unrelated fires that occurred over the weekend in Marlboro Township that remain under investigation as we reach mid-week.

Marlboro Police said that the first of the two reported fires took place at a business warehouse for 'Plasma Power & Systems Inc.' over on Boundary Road around 4:30 pm on Saturday.

As police officers arrived at the scene of the fire, they saw heavy smoke and flames emanating from the structure, specifically in the back of the warehouse which they also reported was unoccupied at the time.

It was an extensive, powerful blaze that closed down Boundary Road between Vanderburg Road and Dutch Lane Road while crews worked to extinguish the flames that were put out around 9:30 pm allowing the roads to re-open.

Police said that there were no injuries reported from this fire but the building is now uninhabitable.

The Monmouth County Fire Marshalls Office is leading the investigation into the warehouse fire.

Marlboro Police Officers and Detectives were joined on scene by the Marlboro Township OEM, Marlboro Fire Department, Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company, Morganville First Aid Squad, the Monmouth County Fire Marshall's Office, Monmouth County Hazmat, NJ-DEP, Gordons Corner Fire Department, East Freehold Fire Department, Adelphia Fire Department, Colts Neck Fire Department, Colts Neck Police Department, Freehold Boro Fire Department, Englishtown Fire Department, Holmdel Fire Department, Freehold Independent Fire Department, Southard (Howell) Fire Department, Union Beach Fire Department, Matawan Fire Department, and the Keyport & Atlantic Highlands First Aid Squad.

On Sunday afternoon, around 5:00 pm, Marlboro Police responded to a call about heavy smoke and flames coming from a home on Hillside Terrace.

There were two people outside of the house at the time police arrived and nobody on the inside of the fully engulfed home.

The fire was reported extinguished by 5:30 pm.

Marlboro Police said that the Monmouth County Fire Marshalls Office is investigating this fire as well where no injuries were reported but the house was left uninhabitable.
