Two Waretown residents await their day in court on a number of charges related to a drug bust made at their home.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced Tuesday that Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, the Ocean Township Police Department Detective Bureau and Patrol Division, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 and Field Services Units had been running an investigation into the distribution of narcotics in the area.

Their investigation led them to a residence in Waretown which they learned was being used to store and distribute Methamphetamine and Heroin.

Shortly thereafter, and based on the evidence they had, Detectives obtained a court-authorized search warrant for the subject residence in Waretown.

Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, Ocean Township Police Department Detective Bureau and Patrol Division, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit searched the home with the warrant in hand on July 29.

Once inside, Detectives found and then seized about 40 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, 20 grams of unpackaged Heroin/Fentanyl and other evidence indicative of narcotics distribution purposes.

They also found $13,000 in United States currency.

Following the executed search warrant, a pair of arrests were made for those running drugs out of their home.

Daniel Labiak, 47, of Waretown, is charged with Possession of More than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of More than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces of Heroin With Intent to Distribute, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Financial Facilitation of Criminal Activity and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Labiak was processed at Ocean Township Police Headquarters and was then brought to the Ocean County Jail where he remains pending a detention hearing.

Jaclyn Applegate, 37, of Waretown, is charged with Possession of More than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of More than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces of Heroin With Intent to Distribute, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Financial Facilitation of Criminal Activity and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Applegate was processed at Ocean Township Police Headquarters and was then released on a summons pending a future court appearance.
