Wawa Experimenting With Drive-Thru Service at NJ Store
Before we dive into the exciting evolution of Wawa, I've got to say that every Wawa I have walked into during the pandemic has been spotless. The company is doing an amazing job.
Now, onto the exciting news. A soon-to-be constructed Wawa in Westhampton, South Jersey will have a drive-thru. Game changer.
While COVID-19 has sped this idea up a bit, the thought of a Wawa drive-thru has been around for a bit.
Wawa says the plan is to offer drive-thru service from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for a select variety of items like coffee, smoothies, sizzlis, and hoagies. Ah! It still pains me to write "hoagie." It's a sub! Anyway, whatever you want to call them, they're delicious.
In the layout provided by APP, it shows the new Wawa with drive-thru will allow nearly 20 vehicles to line up for service.
In addition to the drive-thru, this new Wawa is expected to reserve three parking spaces for curbside pickup. This is another store feature that has been talked about in the past as well. Customers would pull into a reserved spot, place their orders through the Wawa app, and their order would be delivered to them without having to step foot in the store.
Which Monmouth/Ocean Wawa could really use a drive-thru? Drop me an email and let me know. Matt.Ryan@townsquaremedia.com.
