The Wall Street Journal reports the company plans to close all of its stores, which would include stores at Monmouth Mall in Eatontown and Freehold Raceway Mall in Freehold.

There are four additional Wet Seal stores in New Jersey in Woodbridge, Wayne, Jersey City, and Paramus.

It's just the latest retailer to close its doors, following in the footsteps of The Limited, which closed all of its stores earlier this month, while department stores like Sears and Macy's have announced mass store closures.

There's no word yet on exactly when the stores will close.

Meanwhile, #sealstrong, #fightfortheseal, and #savetheseal are trending on Instagram as employees hope to save the company (and their jobs.)

I'm actually kind of bummed about the Wet Seal closure, I just bought an amazing ugly Christmas sweater there last month!

More importantly, thousands of employees are about to find themselves unemployed, which is the worst part of all.

Here's hoping they can all land new gigs soon!
