While temperatures are going up and down as are the chances for rain at the Jersey Shore, warmer and sunnier days are coming soon and after that -- summertime!

For anyone who threw in the towel on fitness goals back in February, now is the time to get back in the game.

For those who have been working out and making healthy diet choices, there are a few things you still need to focus on before summer begins.

There is no judgment here, no competition with anyone other than yourself, so push yourself to get better not just for summer but for overall health and wellness.

If you want to lose some weight, build up endurance, gain strength, or tone up a beach body -- go for it.

There are all kinds of stories out there on what you should take or shouldn't take, what works for this person doesn't work for that person, and so on.

It can make things confusing on what supplements to take before and after a workout as well as on days off, plus, there's also trying to figure out how to plan out a week with what to eat and how much of something like protein you should pack into your diet.

Dr. Dena G Arumugam, M.D., Bariatric Surgeon, General Surgeon at Jersey Shore University Medical Center with Hackensack Meridian Health is helping us shape up a healthy diet plan as well as what to eat before and after working out so we can make the most of those days and build up strength.
