You booze and drive, you lose and get arrested Saturday in Belmar
If you're out and about all merry and having fun tomorrow night, be sure not to get behind the wheel if you're any kind of buzzed.
New Jersey State Police are setting up a sobriety checkpoint in parts of Belmar Saturday night.
Troopers will be looking for signs of impairment due to alcohol or drugs, but haven't said where they'll be setting up patrols which adds to the point of not getting behind the wheel if you're not in the proper state to do so for driving.
"Be ready to give a description of the vehicle and occupants, a location and direction, and a license plate if possible," New Jersey State Police said. "If you plan on drinking, have a designated driver, arrange for transportation or stay where you are. It's not worth the risk of hurting or killing yourself, a friend, a loved one, or innocent motorist."
Police say that if you see someone you believe is posing a hazard because of poor driving behaviors, dial #77 from a hands-free mobile device to contact the aggressive driver tip line and make a report.
