It was a touching moment last night at the ESPY awards show in Los Angeles. Former Rutgers football standout Eric LeGrand received the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance. Le Grand, who was left paralyzed from an on- field play on October 16th 2010, was presented the award by actor Rob Lowe.

LeGrand gave a rousing speech about how the love and support he has received from the day the injury took place, has assisted  him in his rehabilitation. LeGrand went on to say that although he isn’t exactly where he wants to be, he believes that one day he will walk again.

The former Rutgers tackle was drafted this past April and signed a symbolic contract with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
