Hurricane Sandy has thrown all of our schedules out of whack, but like it or not, Thanksgiving is next Thursday, and Black Friday sales? That's SO last year.

Not a huge shocker than Walmart is paving in the way in the consumer insanity department, opening their doors at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night to give customers a jump on holiday deals.

That's right. Black Friday sales now begin on Thursday.

Competing retailers have few options because of this...they can lose out on precious dollars during tough financial times...or lose their dignity by also opening their doors.

Toys R Us and Sears will also open at 8 p.m. Thursday night, while Target will open at 9. Kohl's and Macy's will open at Midnight.

Well, I am ALL for saving money, especially considering all that's happened here at the Jersey Shore recently, but that being said...haven't we learned anything from this?

So many people lost all of their things...but we've been saying all along that STUFF can be replaced...family and loved ones can't. That includes time spent with family and loved ones, like on Thanksgiving.

You shouldn't have to scarf down your dinner and skip out on the pumpkin pie so you can save 50 bucks on a new flat screen.

I feel even sorrier for the employees of these stores who have to leave their families to head into work.

Again, I'm all for saving money, and I love shopping as much as the next girl, but shouldn't we draw the line somewhere?

This holiday season, spend time with your friends and family instead of spending money on things. (Besides, think of the LINES at checkout. Ugh.)
