I thought Yoga would be something to fear. I thought I'd have to stand on my head. But then I found out I could start off with a more relaxing kind of yoga.

There are so many different kinds of yoga, from meditative to the classes where the room is boiling hot and you're sweating while upside down.

Don't get me wrong...I hope to one day be the person able to hold my whole body in mid air or upside down. So for beginners like me and the girlfriend I brought with me, I took a Gentle Yoga class with Gerri J. at The Atlantic Club in Manasquan.

And gentle it was. It put me in touch with my breathing and thoughts, it stretched my body more than I normally do, and it was relaxing and centered me.
