Grab Your Pails & Get Ready For The 2017 Belmar Sandcastle Contest

When I was a kid, a sandcastle to me was turning a sand-filled pale upside down several times and finding shells for the windows. Needless to say, I probably wouldn’t place at the Annual Belmar Sandcastle Contest.

If you want to see some amazing sandcastles or participate in this family-friendly event, now is your chance. The Annual Belmar Sandcastle Contest is scheduled for Wednesday, July 12^th, with a rain date of July 13^th. The Jersey Shore event draws thousands of competitors and spectators every year.

If you are thinking about competing this year, design a creation that will be judged on creativity, resourcefulness, originality, and accessories. The competition is free, open to all ages and begins at 8 a.m. until noon. First, second and third place prizes will be given in the following age categories:

• 7 and under
• 8 to 11
• 12 to 15
• 16 and up
• Family
• Day Camps
