Megan and Jonathan, engaged to be married, are both first responders in Point Pleasant Beach and were both on duty during Hurricane Sandy. Both were there to respond to calls from countless people in distress as the superstorm unleashed it's fury on the Jersey Shore.

They worked selflessly hour after hour to come to the aid of our neighbors as they tried to safely make their way through Sandy. It wasn't until the aftermath that they found out their home was hit hard by the storm of the century.

Their family sent a letter to TV star Elen Degeneres who was so touched by their story that she contacted her friends at Kitchen Cousins, and they agreed to rebuild the home.

Jonathan and Megan and were surprised by the news live on the "Elen" show.

We want to thank Jonathan and Megan for sharing their story with us. We also want to thank them for all they and their fellow first responders do for us and wish them continued success.
