Aldi Vs. Lidl: Lidl Moves Up Grand Opening Date To Match Aldi

I am sensing some friendly competition at the Jersey Shore?

In one corner, Aldi on Route 9 in Forked River.

And in the other, he German discount grocery store known as Lidl also on Route 9.

So a few days ago, I told you Aldi scheduled their big grand opening on September 10th at 7:45 AM -- two days before Lidl's original grand opening day which was scheduled for September 12th.

Well Lidl is stepping their game up and has responded by moving up their grand opening date for September 10th at 8:00 AM -- aka the same day and nearly the same time as Aldi's opening.

So a line has clearly been drawn in the sand. But who will come out victorious? Time will tell.

But, this is good news for you: Both of these grocery store chains will bring competitive pricing to the area and studies have actually shown that other grocery stores located near a Lidl have dropped their prices by as much as 55 percent.
