I woke up this morning with a text from my friend saying that the Applebee's in Wall was closing. I am from Wall and I love eating their boneless wings so I was pretty puzzled to hear about the news. IT IS OFFICIAL, the Applebee's on Route 35 will be closing November 22nd. This location has been open for almost 20 years and the closing was decided before the pandemic. According to the Applebee's franchisee, Doherty Enterprises, all employees were offered positions at nearby restaurants. The large building is 8,500-square-feet and it is officially available for lease. The building is labeled as "vacant" according to marketing materials on the internet.

Timothy Doherty, President and chief operation officer of Doherty Enterprises is still excited to offer customers Applebee's services around the Jersey Shore. He said, "We greatly appreciate our neighbors' patronage for the past nearly 20 years, and look forward to continuing to serve them at our nearby Applebee's locations in Ocean, Brick and Howell Townships among others nearby." More details about the closing you can CLICK HERE!

I will be the first one to admit, it's sad to see the Wall location close. I remember going there after Wall Intermediate school dances and little league games. On Friday nights after high school football games, the restaurant would be packed! SIMPLER TIMES - GREAT MEMORIES - Jimmy G
