Price increases are never fun news but I guess it is better that I let you know now rather than it be a surprise....right?

Today's news is all about Asbury Park's parking system.

Usually the Jersey Shore town charges 'peak season' parking prices from Memorial Day Weekend (ish) to Labor Day Weekend (ish) and then parking prices are discounted for the rest of the year.

Now that is about to change because peak season prices are being extended and will now be put into effect from April 15th to October 15th.

Parking for downtown and central zones will be $1/hour on weekdays and $2/hour at the waterfront zone.

All parking will be $2/hour starting every Friday at 5:00 PM and will last until Monday at 2:00 AM.

During off-season time, the prices will be a bit different.

All three parking zones will cost $.50/hour on weekdays. Starting at 5:00 PM on Fridays and lasting until Monday at 2:00 AM, parking will cost $2/hour in the downtown and waterfront zones and $1/hour in the central zone.

There is also a new parking garage being built on Main Street to help get more control over the parking issues that have arose since Asbury Park has flourished!

So yes there is a price increase but I guess the silver lining is that it is nothing crazy that will break the bank.
