An Atlantic City man, who knocked a 12-year old boy unconscious after tasering him in the head multiple times, is now facing several charges.

Egg Harbor Township Police said they responded to a home in the West Atlantic City section Monday afternoon and found the boy unconscious and unresponsive.

He was brought to Cooper Hospital in Camden, and after some time, regained consciousness and became stable.

The boy has since been released from the hospital, police said, but it's not known what kind of long-term effects being tasered will have on the boy.

As for what happened, Egg Harbor Police said a friend of the family, 68-year old Luis Surita Jr. of Atlantic City, stopped by the home and engaged in "horse-play" with the 12-year old.

While they were interacting with each other, Surita allegedly pulled out a Taser and discharged it on the boy's head delivering one or more shocks to the child, which knocked him out.

For horsing around and allegedly tasering a 12-year old boy, Surita was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Child Abuse, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

Egg Harbor Police said the charges were placed on a warrant and Surita was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
