UPDATE: Barnegat Police said they safely located 14-year-old Michael Briganti late Friday afternoon in the Village Drive area as they were canvassing the neighbirhood.

Residents said they noticed Briganti in the woods and alerted police. Officers went into the woods and Briganti initially ran from them but were able to bring him  to safety.

Police said he was unharmed.


Barnegat Police need you help finding 14-year old Michael Briganti who went missing on Thursday evening.

Briganti lives on Tedesko Way in the township and was last seen around 5:00 pm on Thursday when police say he ran from his home and into the woods.

Michael is described as a white male, 5'6" and weighs 127 pounds.

He has blond hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a white Brackman School sports jersey with the #25, white soccer shorts, white socks and black Nike sneakers.

Barnegat Police are continuing their search this morning for the juvenile along with the Ocean County Sheriff's Department.

Police Chief Keith Germain tells WOBM News that they have and will be using numerous assets in the area including both manned and unmanned aircraft.
