I am always sad whenever there is one less place to get pizza at the Jersey Shore.

So grab the tissues because Bertucci's Brick Oven Pizza & Pasta on Route 35 in Hazlet has closed their doors.

On Tuesday, former customers saw employees inside and there was a note posted on the door that read:

"We are thankful to you, our loyal guests, for giving us the opportunity to serve you," states a sign posted on the door. "It's with great appreciation and gratitude that we say thank you for all the years."

There is talk that the town is proposing for a Costco gas station to take the pizzeria's place.

Seriously?! A GAS STATION?! Instead of pizza? Someone's morals are seriously screwed up.

The only silver lining is that this pizzeria does have other locations in the Garden State: Mount Laurel, Marlton and Sicklerville. But notice none of them are at the Jersey Shore. 😭😭😭

So as we mourn this tough loss, take a look at the original article at APP.com.
