I'll be honest: I prefer these movies to the super scary horror films that are out today. Usually, I enjoy classic movies for Halloween like The Wolfman, Dracula, Frankenstein, and old black and white movies. The family movies are good too. My favorite is "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" it's the movie I make a point to see every Halloween.

Growing up It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown was always a Halloween TV special that I would never want to miss, if it was October, I'd be looking out for this one. CBS was home to this special so channel 2 it was for the "Great Pumpkin".

According to Wikipedia "Its initial broadcast took place on October 27, 1966 on CBS, preempting My Three Sons, and tied Bonanza as the No. 1 broadcast in that week's Nielsen TV ratings. The original sponsors were Coca-Cola (which had been the original sponsor of A Charlie Brown Christmas) and the Dolly Madison brand of baked snack food. (Dolly Madison continued to co-sponsor the Peanuts specials on CBS for many years.) The special was nominated for a 1966 Emmy Award."

Here are some of my favorite recommendations for "family-friendly" Halloween shows the whole family can enjoy, with no nightmares :)
