Either way, there is no snowstorm in the forecast that appears to rival the worst snowstorm totals in the Garden State record books.
The Most Snow In New Jersey History
According to app.com, the biggest snowstorm in terms of total snowfall from a single event was a mammoth storm that dumped 29.7 inches of snow in Long Branch between December 26 and 27, 1947. Talk about a white day after Christmas.

During the heaviest accumulations of that snowstorm, snow fell at a rate of 3 inches per hour.
This is one record Long Branch wishes had happened somewhere else. It was a huge mess and a big clean-up.

The storm rendered roads unpassable for days. It took until the third day after the storm for Monmouth County's main roads to be passable.
Even today, nearly 30 inches of snow would paralyze our roadways and routines.
