Bicycles Should Be Allowed On Our Jersey Shore, NJ Boardwalks 24/7 For This Genius Business Idea
So I've been thinking -- I know, shocker LOL -- about some of the rules we have in place at the Jersey Shore.
There is one that I am about to challenge and it is about when you are allowed to ride bikes on our Jersey Shore boardwalks.
So in Belmar, for example, the rule is that bikes are only allowed on the boardwalk between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM from from May 1st to September 30th. Otherwise, bikes are allowed whenever your heart desires year round.

I think we need to change this because....*POOF*....I had an idea.
So I get that the boardwalks are insane and chaotic - similar to a zoo - during the peak Summer season.
However, I am starting to think that our boardwalks should allow bikes all day, everyday, year round and the way to do it would to be use bike paths similar to the ones that you see on our roads.
And that is because I have an interesting idea.
The Jersey Shore could start offering "bicycle taxis" on our boardwalks which could open up some more jobs for our residents.
You have people who are handicapped, those who are injured, young kids who may struggle walking far distances and our seniors who may need some extra help getting from one end of the boardwalk to the other.
I know there are kinks that would need to be worked out but thinking about it!
These new bike paths could give towns the chance to make some extra revenue which is needed after 2020.
And don't tell me that there is NO WAY that this could work because the Wildwood Tram Car has been successful for years and years now.
MAN...and those bike riders would have legs of steel!
So what do you think?

Because I think I might have just come up with the next big business idea at the Jersey Shore. DIBS!
