Bonefish Grill and Carrabba’s Italian Grill Close in Middletown

Two popular Middletown restaurants have unexpectedly closed their doors.

Bonefish Grill and Carrabba's Italian Grill, both chains under the umbrella of Bloomin' Brands, have shut down in the township.

The company announced it would be closing several restaurants in its quarterly statement released in November, but didn't disclose at the time which stores would be shut down.

Bloomin' Brands also owns Outback Steakhouse, which remains open in Middletown.

The next closest Bonefish Grill is on Rt. 9 in Manalapan, while Carrabba's can be found on Rt. 18 in East Brunswick. Both chains can also be found in Brick.

I tend to avoid Italian chains, but I really like Bonefish, and I'm certainly going to miss their bread...and bang bang shrimp...and key lime pie! Every time I went, the restaurant was packed, so I can't be the only one bummed about this! Womp womp.
