Brick Blvd New Jersey Traffic Problems Have Drivers at Their Breaking Point
If there is any justice in the world, 2026 will bring some relief to, in my opinion, the hardest local road to negotiate in New Jersey.
The Worst Local Road In New Jersey
If you have reason to travel Brick Blvd. in Brick, you know exactly what I'm talking about when I give that road this dubious title.
I'll be the first to admit, I have no clue how to fix it. I'm not a road technician or a traffic engineer, but as a driver, I know something needs to be done.
Several factors combine like the perfect storm to make this roadway one of the most frustrating local roads in the state.
Why Is Brick Blvd Such A Difficult Local Road?
The primary cause of these problems is severe overcrowding. Too many cars, stores, intersections, and traffic lights create a recipe for travel failure.

Is there a solution for overcrowding? Probably not, and it's not the only factor that makes Brick Blvd a nightmare.
We also need to look inward. I have seen more bad driving on Brick Blvd than anywhere else. The left lane is often the slow lane, and blinkers are apparently optional.
Difficult Intersections Don't Help Brick Blvd.
It also feels like every intersection of Brick Blvd. poses a challenge to drivers in all directions, making it a complicated puzzle to solve.

Maybe the spirit of 2026 will bring us a gift, and we'll have an answer to the question that is Brick Blvd. We hope so; the good folks of Brick deserve it.
