A Brick Township couple has been charged with running a drug facility out of their home.

The U.S. DHS alerted the Ocean County Prosecutors Office about a package (addressed to Patrick Fasano) they had intercepted coming in from the Netherlands containing about 920 teams of DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) which is a Schedule I Narcotic known to produce hallucinogenic effects.

An undercover OCPO Detective then delivered the package to the home of Maria and Patrick Fasano which was later searched with a warrant and that's when investigators seized mass quantities of DMT, Psilocybin Mushrooms and Marijuana as well as several firearms, ammunition and nearly $1,900.00 in cash.

Ocean County First Assistant Prosecutor Michael Nolan, Jr. announced Wednesday that Patrick Fasano, 31, and Maria Fasano, 27 have been charged with Operating a Controlled Dangerous Substance Production Facility, Possession of Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of less than One-Half Ounce of Psilocybin Mushrooms with Intent to Distribute, Possession of DMT, Possession of Psilocybin Mushrooms, Possession of less than 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Firearm While in the Course of Committing a Controlled Dangerous Substance Offense and Maintaining and Occupying a Fortified Structure.

Detectives also found numerous items "suggestive of maintaining a Controlled Dangerous Substance Production Facility," and discovered an exterior mounted surveillance camera system which warns the Fasano's against potential law enforcement entry.

Patrick and Maria Fasano were transported to Brick Police Headquarters to be processed and are currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.

"First Assistant Prosecutor Nolan extends his gratitude to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, United States Department of Homeland Security, and Brick Township Police Department for their cooperative assistance in this investigation leading to these arrests."
