Brick man found with handgun, marijuana near houses under construction

When you're driving around a neighborhood with all the homes under construction and are doing so in a suspicious matter, it could lead to some trouble.

A Brick Township Police Officer for example stopped a car Monday afternoon on Law-Win Court which is a street where all of the residences are under construction.

The officer approached the vehicle and was rudely greeted with the potent odor of burnt marijuana.

He called for backup and another Brick officer arrived along with an Ocean County Sheriff's officer who were followed by a K9 officer and his partner Echo.

Nasir Williams, 18 of Brick, was identified as the driver and he was accompanied by a 17-year old juvenile male passenger.

Police then found a .25 caliber handgun, ammunition, a quantity of oxycodone, two knives, a quantity of  marijuana, THC cartridges and THC edibles.

Williams was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a weapon (Knife), Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of CDS in a Vehicle and Trespassing.

He was released on summonses pending a court date.

The juvenile passenger was charged with Possession of a weapon (Firearm), Unlawful Possession of a weapon, Possession of a weapon (Knife), Possession of marijuana, Possession of CDS paraphernalia, and possession of a large capacity magazine.

The juvenile was lodged in the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.
