Brick, NJ Police arrest two from Allentown, PA in targeted burglary on 18th Avenue
Police in Brick Township have made two arrests but continue investigating a burglary that took place on Wednesday afternoon as they believe it was a targeted incident.
A call came in around 1:00 pm on Wednesday and shortly thereafter patrol officers went to the area near 18th Avenue for a burglary and en route learned the two suspects fled in a black vehicle which ended up being found near the River Rock Restaurant on Route 70 in Brick.
Then both men in the vehicle got out and ran off on foot as police approached the vehicle.
Jermaine Mayer Jr, 20, Allentown, PA was found and arrested first, and soon after so was the other suspect in the burglary, Marquis Pettise, 20, Allentown, PA.
Pettise actually returned to the vehicle to remove a handgun he had left inside and then tossed it on the side of a Liquor store.
He was later found on the Brielle Bridge and then placed under arrest, while the handgun he tossed was recovered along with a high-capacity magazine.
Mayer Jr. and Pettise are both now charged with Armed Burglary, Criminal Mischief, Possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, Possession of high capacity magazine, possession of hollow-point ammunition, and Obstruction and after their arrests, they were brought to the Ocean County Jail.
