Each year one of the biggest attractions about the big game is basically everything but the game. And the granddaddy of all of those things is the halftime show.

This year the scheduled performers for the halftime show are Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, and Kendrick Lamar.  The halftime show has become bigger and bigger over the years.

Just in the past decade, superstars like Shakira and Jlo, The Weeknd, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga have found themselves center stage. But do you remember the year the halftime show was more Jersey than it's ever been before or since?

It was back in 2009, and one of the best live bands to ever grace any stage, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band gave the world a glimpse of what it's like to be from Jersey, and we all loved it.

And like most things Bruce and the band do, it was a critically acclaimed performance. As a matter of fact, reviewers at The Wrap named that performance the 5th best in Big Game history. and they remind us that Bruce ordered everyone to put our chicken fingers down. Classic.

For the record, they named the U2 halftime show as the best ever, and it's hard to argue with that. Clearly, Bruce and the band are among the best of the best, as always. New Jersey couldn't be prouder.

It's hard to believe that it's been 13 years since that performance, but we will always have the day the entire world was watchin' and rockin' with a kid from Institute St, Freehold, NJ 07728.
