NJ Transit Back to Normal Following Brush Fire Suspensions
NJ Transit and PATH trains are back to normal following earlier suspensions for a brush fire along the New Jersey Turnpike.
New Jersey Fast Traffic had delays of 60 minutes on NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line, Raritan Valley, Morris and Midtown Direct both directions between Newark Penn and NY Penn. The Morris & Essex (including Gladstone) and Montclair-Boonton lines shared in the delays.
PATH has been restored between Newark and Journal Square.
The 2-alarm brush fire is off the Turnpike's western spur at exit 15W for Interstate 280 near NJ Transit tracks. Fios 1 New Jersey tweeted that the fire was being driven by high winds and has been brought under control. Jersey City and Harrison crews also helped fight the fire according to the Jersey Journal.
Text TRAFFIC to 89000 for updates on the delays.
