Are you one of the nearly 500 people who set up an account on New Jersey’s cannabis business application platform? Apparently the platform is running smoothly and the world is changing right before our eyes. What was once illegal is now something that we will see as readily as beer or wine.
New Jersey's CRC (Cannabis Regulatory Commission) just opened up applications for recreational cannabis growers, manufacturers and testing labs. This officially launches New Jersey's recreational cannabis industry.
Of course cultivators, manufacturers, and testing labs have to be licensed and now that that is underway, it sets the stage for retailers to get licensed in March of this year. Wow, after all this talk it is really happening.
What are your thoughts on all this? If you have never tried it, will you now? Or are you team Nancy Reagan with "Just Say No!" I've entertained the idea myself. Is it really different than having a few drinks? Many say it's less of an offense because drinking brings out the worst in people and marijuana brings out the peace.
You have to remember, I was a child of the 80's and I remember that commercial with the egg being cracked onto a hot frying pan and a very droll man saying, "This is your brain. THIS is your brain on drugs" and it scared that pants off me. It is still in my head so I'm curious where I will fall on this one. One thing is for sure, whatever I decide, I'll be honest with you about it!
There is no deadline for applications, everyone is just going with the flow. It seems like people are chilling out already.
