Cryolete Is Asbury Park’s Coolest Chill Spot
OMG I am super excited to share with you my latest adventure at the Jersey Shore! I got a chance to go to Cryolete in Asbury Park to try the CryoChamber for a session of Cryotherapy. Cryotherapy is basically giving your body a cold treatment by exposing your body to temperatures that can be colder than negative 200 degrees. Sounds crazy right?! It totally is, but seriously well worth it! Cryotherapy is a great way to give your body some relief from various pains such as arthritis and sciatica. It’s also used for workout recovery, weight management, I was told it is great for migraines and even for hangovers! I haven’t tried it for a hangover yet, but I can assure you the next time I partake in too many adult beverages, I am hitting the CryoChamber for sure!!
So, let me tell you about my cool experience (see what I did there? LOL) When I entered the building, I was instantly relaxed. The air was lightly scented with aromatherapy. I was greeted by Augustine and Fred who were super nice and very excited to chill with me! (I did it again…LOL) I was given a tour of the place and all the services were explained to me in great detail. Augustine and Fred were both very knowledgeable and willing to address any questions or concerns I had. This was my very first time and I was super excited to enter the chamber! Before I went in there were a few things I needed to do. First thing was I needed to change. I was provided with a robe, I kept my undergarments on, I was given a pair of socks to put on along with a special pair of booties and I removed all my jewelry. While in the chamber I was given a pair of gloves and the robe was removed. The reason for the socks and gloves is to avoid damaging your extremities. You definitely wouldn’t want frost bite!! It was super cold in there!!
The entire process lasted 3 mins. YES, I said 3 mins. During those 3 minutes, my body was blast chilled with Liquid Nitrogen and my body burned 800 calories! Unreal!!! At one point I was told the temperature in the chamber was negative 130 degrees. WHAT?!!! Yeah it definitely was cold in there!! When I exited the chamber, I felt all tingly. What a weird and yet super cool feeling. Pun intended for sure. The best part is, that my lower back wasn’t hurting anymore. For this moment I have some relief. YAY!!! What does it feel like after you change and are thawing out? Well the best way to describe it, is to say it felt like when I was a child playing in the snow for hours… then going inside with those frozen wet clothes on…that warm fuzzy feeling that occurs as you start to warm up…that is what it felt like after. Not to mention the natural energy I felt and for some reason I was completely giddy. The smile on my face just would not go away and I kept giggling. MIND BLOWN! I can’t wait to go back and get the treatment for slimming and toning. I have lost 40lbs and I want to try and see if this can help out with the troubled areas. They have package deals and if you are on a budget like I am, you can do single sessions. They have menus available of their services and OMG the BEST thing is, you can have a CRYO-Party!!! Seriously no pun intended this time, but this is the COOLEST place to CHILL!!!! Go check them out and tell them I sent ya!! Check out the video:
