Zumanjaro at Great Adventure is already the world's tallest and fastest drop ride, and now Six Flags is taking it to the next level with the use of virtual reality.

It's called 'Drop of Doom VR," and thanks to the use of Samsung Gear Virtual Reality headsets, riders will battle giant mutant spiders while climbing 41 stories. What's next? A plunge back to Earth at speeds reaching 90 mph.

Because the headsets are interactive, it will allow guests to take aim and fire upon their massive spider attackers and compete against their friends for the highest score.

The experience will open to the public on May 5. Here's a first look at 'Drop of Doom VR'

The virtual reality technology behind this ride is fascinating.

Think you'll be able to handle it?
