I wrote a couple of weeks ago about what an inspiration Eric LeGrand has been to so many people. LeGrand, paralyzed while playing football for Rutgers 18 months ago, was recently awarded an NFL contract by former Rutgers and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano. I had the honor to meet both at this weekend's NJ Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies.

When you meet Eric you immediately feel like you know him for years. He is a humble guy who believes what happened specifically happened to him so he could inspire other people, and he certainly has been doing that. He is soft spoken, yet when you combine his words with his contagious smile, it is very powerful.

When I spoke with him on the red carpet, Eric said that his ability to inspire was just sinking in, and that  he couldn't believe Coach Schiano had offered him a spot on the Tampa Bay Bucanneers. I then watched as Eric made his way through the rest of the red carpet, cameras flashing, videos rolling and fans cheering, and I was inspired, too.

Later during the ceremony, Eric LeGrand received the "Unsung Hero" award. The award was presented by his coach and friend Greg Schiano.
