Late last week the heroes from Laurelton Fire Company #1 in Brick went above and beyond to save a pet caught in a fire.

The firefighters responded to a house fire where a homeowner and one dog were already  taken out of the house

But one dog was still missing. So while other fire companies continued to fight the fire, members from Laurelton Fire Company #1 searched inside the home and found the unconscious dog. They got the pet out and firefighters applied a pet oxygen mask and continued to stimulate the dog while holding its airway open.

After a few minutes the dog was able to breathe normally and drink some water. Both dogs were sent to an emergency vet for evaluation and further treatment.

One person had to be flown to a hospital for treatment.
