Forked River man leads Lacey Police on foot pursuit near Middle School Thursday
A Forked River man has been arrested after leading Lacey Police on a foot pursuit following a burglary that occurred in the township on Thursday morning.

Lacey Township Police said their Detectives were conducting a burglary-theft investigation and spotted the suspect, later identified as 30-year old Trevor May, on Brentwood Road in the Forked River section around 10:08 am.
When May was approached by the Detectives, he opted to flee on foot.
Detectives called in for backup police officers to assist in finding May who they then spotted running towards Denton Avenue and then into a rear locked yard on Brentwood Road where he remained until he was found and arrested.
Lacey Police said that due to this pursuit and investigation taking place so close to Lacey Township Middle School Thursday morning, the department kept school officials informed on the situation but add that there was never any threat to the school and it wasn't put in lockdown.
For, Trevor May, he's been charged with Burglary, Theft, Criminal Trespass, and Receiving Stolen Property related to the investigation of a burglary and a theft that occurred in Lanoka Harbor last month.
May's heist involved copper and other metals valued in excess of $3,750, police said.
For his foot race, Trevor May was charged with Obstructing the Administration of the Law and Resisting Arrest related to the incident.
He has been transported and lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
