Gas Prices Going Over Five Dollars a Gallon in Ocean County, New Jersey
We all agree that we don't like high gas prices and we may all disagree on who is to blame, but at the end of the day, we all want lower gas prices not only here in New Jersey but around the nation as well.
Gas prices are over $5.00 a gallon (Premium) and even "regular" is heading in that direction.
This past weekend it cost $60.00 to fill my tank and I have a medium size tank. Those with larger vehicles are spending even more. If I go through that tank in a week going to and from work and work-related events, well in a month I'm spending nearly $250 in a month just for gas, some pay that for their car. So it goes without saying this is getting out of control.
The question is what is the solution? first, let's see where the "least" expensive gas is located in Ocean County. Currently according to Gas-Buddy.com 5/9/22
- Exxon - 2096 Lakewood Road, Toms River $4.39 (regular)
- Exxon - 1 Commonwealth Blvd, Manchester $4.39 (regular)
What are some ways of conserving gas and making our expenses go down a bit during these higher price days? According to U.S. News and World Report, there are several ways to help yourself.
- Carpool whenever it's convenient
- Maximize your regular routes
- Keep your car tires properly inflated
Just a few simple things you can do to keep your "price at the pump", down during these high price days. We will have to keep an eye out for how prices continue to go here in Ocean County and see if, in fact, we go over $5.00 a gallon for "regular".
